Govt earmarks 116 bln rbl for social contracts in next 3 years

MOSCOW, Sep 29 (PRIME) -- The government has earmarked 116 billion rubles for social contracts over the next three years, Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov told President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

“In total … for the next three years, we’ve earmarked more than 116 billion rubles for signing social contracts. Of them, 79 billion rubles were earmarked in the federal budget and 37.5 billion rubles were earmarked in regional budgets,” he said, adding that the sum would allow for signing of more than 1 million social contracts.

Putin said he was sure that Russia would cope with the problem of unemployment, and that the mechanism of social contracts was one of the measures to fight it.

“It is not a coincidence that I asked you to discuss this topic, as it is one of the aspects of overcoming the difficulties we and the country’s economy face due to the pandemic, as the amount of unemployed people grew by 1.7%, and you know that. I am sure that we will cope with that next year, and we will start working on that already this year. I am sure that it will bring results,” he said.

The government already has plans to overcome the obstacles, but it has to work hard on each segment of the program to ensure employment, he said.
